FOR CONTROL OF SCORPIONS:
To ensure optimum control, treat the building perimeter with bifenthrin granules at dusk to prevent outdoor scorpions from entering the building. Scorpions reside hidden in cracks and voids during the day and are active at night at temperatures above 77F/25C. Resting areas can be identified at night using a blacklight (UV bulb) as scorpions will fluoresce. These areas should also be treated. Prior to treatment, to increase treatment efficacy, remove trash, debris, or firewood that scorpions may use as resting sites.

Active Ingredient Rate per Acre 0.2 - 0.4 lbs. ai/A
Bifen Rate per Acre 100 - 200 lbs.
Bifen Rate per 1000 sq ft 2.3 - 4.6 lbs.

STEP 3 - Interior attic treatment.

Read all aerosol pest control label directions and warnings before use.

Step 3 is the most critical of all three steps.

If you're spotting more than a few scorpions in your house throughout the year, you probably have an infestation. Because scorpions like warm dry places they tend to populate in attics. The easy way to treat an attic thoroughly is to use aerosol pest control or bug foggers, not smoke bombs. Smoke methods have some effect but the risk of fire increases with their use.......don't use smoke bombs. Foggers present a fire risk also if label warnings aren't heeded but the risk are not directly related to the method of dispersion.

WARNING - FIRE RISK - READ ALL LABEL DIRECTIONS AND WARNINGS BEFORE USE.

Wal-Mart, Lowe's and Home Depot carry fogger brands that do a fair but minimal job of control.

The following product has an additional insecticide compound, Esfenvalerate, that specifically targets scorpions.

TIP.....Most attics are well vented for temperature control. The best time to treat the attic is when the wind is nil and the sun is not beating down on your roof.
